Thursday: Created to Have Dominion on Earth

Bible reading

Genesis 1:26, 28; Psalm 3:6–8

God created human beings in His own image and gave them authority to exercise dominion over the earth and its creatures. Genesis 1:26 declares God’s intention to make man in His image and likeness, while verse 28 records His blessing and command to multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it. This shows that God created us with responsibility, authority, and a purpose to fulfil. As children of God, we must understand that our dominion is not an opportunity to oppress others but a responsibility to manage God’s creation wisely and live according to His will. Through Christ, we can walk in the authority and victory that God has provided for us.

Psalm 3:6–8 reminds us that we do not need to live in fear of our enemies because our help and salvation come from the Lord. Although we may face challenges, opposition, and difficult situations, we can trust in God’s protection and power. Our confidence should not be in our own strength but in the Almighty God, who sustains us and gives us victory. Therefore, let us exercise our God-given responsibilities with wisdom, courage, and faith, knowing that the final victory belongs to the Lord.

Prayer

Almighty Father, help me to fulfil my divine purpose on earth. Grant me wisdom to exercise my God-given authority, courage to overcome every challenge, and grace to walk in Your victory, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
